A formerly anon blogger, trying to make it honest
OK, so I do have one gripe about the premiere of Grey’s tonight (*warning spoiler*)…
I’m mad that McDreamy came in, said that big thing about how he loves her and now she has “choices to make” and then walks out. OK, so he gets to be an ass…first by lying about being married, then by making HER wait, then choosing Addison, and then NOW he’s ready and telling her he loves her. And she’s supposed to what, run to him and be like, “Oh, Derek, finally!”
Um, false.
Meredith, as much as I love her even while she’s ugly, dark, and twisted…(and hot too even with her half lidded gaze)…get it together. STOP. You know Derek is bad for you, and what’s-his-name Chris O’Donnell’s character even said so himself. But, yet – you hesitate, and you consider. Even through flashbacks of your own mother’s pain and sorrow when love failed her as well.
Ah, but the reason women everywhere relate…we all have a bad boy that we love to hate. There’s always that one (or string of them) that you just can’t get away from. Sure you eventually snap out of it and get over it, settle down and finally be happy. But before you give up the game, then it’s the nice boys, like the Denny’s in the world…that miss us, pass us by, and end up leaving us. Leaving us to our own devices with all the McDreamy’s out there. But damn if it isn’t one hell of a ride.

Wah, I don’t want to think about Denny. He is the only thing that made me teary in this show.
As for Derek… well, we’ll see what happens but he was just way too beta and I didn’t appreciate his moves.
I watched that show last night and I still have absolutely no idea what happened. Can anyone explain it to me? In a succinct fashion? What the hell is this show about?
I’m with Siryn…I love Denny and while I cannot stand this show–I still watch. I am the ultimate lover of bad boys but C’MON even I grew up and got over it.
She needs a good man, a passionate man…and one she wants–if its the vet, then so be it but I don’t know, she doesn’t seem into it at all.
PS–Great post.
the ‘Bad Boy’ syndrome. and they had to say goodbye to Denny as they will be saying goodbye to the blonde, who by the way, is the only good looking piece of ass on that show (in terms of females)
McDreamy should go back to delivering pizzas (name that movie…) or be bitch-slapped.
But hey, as Kass has said and I believe people are sometimes led by their heart, no matter what their head says.
Loverboy is the movie I think. But seriously, what is with all the love for the dying sap Denny? Sure he was nice and needy which I am sure you girls love but Alex is the man, even if he is a dick. He is a big enough ass to make those small glimpses of humanity even more powerfu, like saving that baby or his little speech about getting over anything and all you have to do is survive.
I could care less about Meredith and her little love triangle which I could ruin for you all right now if I felt like it but I wont. I watch the show for the other members of the cast. Merediths voice overs are good though. And that last season with Christina crying, seriously I almost threw up, that face does not emote well.
Anyway, thats my take. Admitting that I watch this show and like it is a bit of a slippery slope but I am ok with it.
Yeah, Alex is more my type then Derek…Derek is too whiny….haha
I’m so over McDreamy. Yes, he’s hot, but I pretty much hate his character and I hate the relationship with Meredith. But it’s the kind of hate where I’m still compelled to watch…. at this point, though, Addison is definitely my favorite Shepard.
And while Alex is a hottie, I’d prefer George or Burke any day.
I was suprised at how they’ve set up McDreamy to be an asshole. And I was there right along with you yelling at my TV telling Meredith to kick his ass out of her house. Ummm, hello? Dude…you’re still married. Have you forgotten that you have to first tell your wife that things are over? I don’t know if the writers knew how selfish and assholish that made McDreamy look or if that was their goal…but I ended up disliking him for that. If Meh-redith chooses him, then they’ve made it hard for viewers to root for their core couple.
Bailey’s goodbye to Denny was what got me the most.
Thank goodness for TIVO. I just caught up last night. At least the boys made it out of quarantine.
kind regards,
rk
