This reminds me of a hilarious sketch from Mr. Show(an old HBO sketch comedy series), where David Cross plays a gay man who is repeatedly saved from his "sins".

It cuts between him confessing on a evangelical talk show, repenting, and him then relapsing into the "gay lifestyle". This happens at least four times, and his outfits change with the year, first 80s clothes, then early 90s, as he continues to bounce between being saved and being who he really is.

Funny(if a little dark) look at the futility of praying the gay away.

Totally. Having spent a little time in the mega churches in Colorado, I can tell you that people really think that Haggard will redeem himself. It's tragic. Let's just pray for all of them, shall we?

Well said. But i'm not even sure Haggard wsa truly religious. He might have been in it only for the power and money.

He was typical of gay people who are so afraid of their own sexuality that they become homophobic. There was a good example of that portrayed in the film American Beauty.
