Mission Impossible III – Decent way to start off the summer action blockbuster. Even if Tom Cruise is weird now.
The Break Up – A great movie that really hits home for pretty much anyone who has ever been in a serious relationship and/or lived together.
Superman Returns - A decent flick, but I feel it could have been better. The new Superman is pretty cute though.
The Devil Wears Prada - A great movie! I loved the book too, but the movie brought it to life. The makeup and shoes were reason enough to see it! And my favorite quote, “I’m on the best diet ever. I don’t eat, and when I feel like I’m going to pass out, I eat a cube of cheese. I’m one stomach flu away from my goal weight.”
Pirates of the Caribbean – A long movie, but entertaining. I didn’t like the ending though, even if it was setting up for the third movie.
You, Me, and Dupree – It was cute, but not as good as I expected. It was a little weird and a little too much.
Clerks II – Can Clerks II really top the original? It may still be a bitingly funny movie, but I have the feeling it’s just going to be more of the same, and try way too hard. Plus, it’s in color. I don’t know about all THAT. But, I’m gonna love it I’m sure.
Miami Vice – Hot. Hot. Hot. That is all.
Talledega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby – Oh Will Ferrell, you never cease to amuse. The same tired story a la Ron Burgandy will of course become a classic to quote.
Step Up – Two things. Dancing and Channing Tatum. I’m there.
John Tucker Must Die – even though I think the title is a little creepy and sends a bad message to teeny boppers everywhere (can’t it be John Tucker must…pay?) – I have to go see Jesse Metcalf.
The OH in Ohio – A movie about a desperate housewife and orgasms. Plus Paul Rudd. Ohhhhh indeed!
The Guardian – it’s not coming out until the fall, but damn it looks good. Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher in a serious role.
The Holiday - coming out in December, but it looks so cute I have to include it. And Jack Black in a romantic role…sort of like Shallow Hall I guess. Plus, I love Kate Winslet (how cute is she) and Jude Law.
The Last Kiss – also coming out later in the year, but looks amazing. Zach Braff is in it, and it looks to be along the same lines as Garden State, but even better. It was written by Paul Haggis (who did Crash) and looks to do for relationships what Crash did for racism. I’m there.
Da Vinci Code
X-Men Last Stand
Waist Deep
Nacho Libre
Over the Hedge
Cars
Fast & Furious
The Ant Bully - for once an animated feature I have no desire to see.
Lady in the Water - I might see it just on principle, but if it’s anything like The Village, I’ll pass.
World Trade Center – Didn’t the United 93 movie teach us anything? I’m not saying we should forget about it, or that heroes shouldn’t be recognized, but…I don’t know…
Little Man – wtf. That’s all I have to say about that one.
